Fertilizers and carbon footprint: A study
Oct 08: The paper analyses the concept of carbon footprint in modern fertilizer technology.
8Mineral fertilizers are an essential component of agricultural production, but during their production, significant amounts of energy are consumed and carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases are emitted adding to the concentration of GHG in the atmosphere.
8However, studies show that the fertilizers industry can implement actions directed at the reduction of the GHG emissions per unit of their products, that is the carbon footprint of products.
